Charming all year round
This fishing village, discovered by French painters in the early 20th century, has become a globally celebrated beach destination. It’s hard not to fall under its unique spell!
In every season, the colorful port of Saint-Tropez welcomes yachts and magnificent sailing ships that cruise the Mediterranean.
It’s the perfect place for a stroll, or to sit down for a coffee at the terrace of Sénéquier, the most famous café in Saint-Tropez. If you're in the mood for a bite to eat, don’t miss the famous tarte tropézienne—a flat brioche flavored with orange blossom water and filled with cream—or the town’s renowned nougat.
Explore the old town with its narrow streets, the iconic church with its red bell tower, and the many luxury boutiques—especially along rue Gambetta, a true shopper’s paradise. The Place des Lices is home to the Provençal market all year long every Tuesday and Saturday morning. It’s bursting with colorful local fruits and vegetables, along with artisanal specialties— perfect for sampling the region’s many delicacies.
Art lovers will enjoy browsing the many galleries scattered throughout the town, visiting the Citadel—a historic site with breathtaking views over the town and bay—and stopping by the Musée de l’Annonciade, which features works by Seurat, Signac, and Dufy. Before you leave, treat yourself to Camille’s famous rockfish bouillabaisse—a beloved local restaurant tucked away in a hidden cove.
Spring in Saint-Tropez
Spring is a wonderful season in the Mediterranean, with mild temperatures and magnificent light. It’s also the perfect time to enjoy the start of the season and the reopening of beach clubs. As the region is not yet crowded with tourists, it’s the ideal moment to explore the surrounding area at a leisurely pace.
Take the beach road just outside Saint-Tropez to reach Ramatuelle, a hilltop village with winding medieval streets and typical Mediterranean architecture.
From Saint-Tropez, you can also easily reach the island of Porquerolles, nicknamed the Pearl of the Golden Isles. With its pine forests, vineyards, eucalyptus groves, and crystal-clear waters, this island is a true unspoiled paradise.
There are no cars there — only bicycles, which you can ride through the island’s pine and eucalyptus groves to the striking Villa Carmignac. This contemporary art foundation, housing works by some of the world’s greatest artists, offers a unique experience where visitors are invited to explore barefoot.
Enjoy a delicious meal at Mas des Langoustiers, then take a dip in one of the region's most beautiful beaches, Plage d'Argent.
Summer in Saint-Tropez
From June to August, the international jet set flocks to Saint-Tropez. It’s the perfect time to soak up the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy the pleasures of the sea.
The sea is ever-present — in town, along the port, and at the many beach clubs that line the iconic Pampelonne beach, as beautiful as it is lively.

To experience the full jet-set vibe, head to the legendary Club 55. A favorite haunt of Hollywood stars, it's the place to sip chilled rosé under a pergola with a Niçoise salad or grilled sea bass. As the day winds down, DJs from around the world take over — just as they do at Nikki Beach and Gigi’s.
Don’t miss the ultra-exclusive Cabane Bambou, tucked away at the end of the beach road. This luxurious take on wild Eden is a true paradise nestled among the tamarisk trees. In the evening, enjoy dinner under the stars and dancing at La Sauvageonne, one of the season’s hottest spots to kick off the night. Later, regulars make their way into town to party at iconic clubs like Caves du Roy or the VIP Room.
Autumn, the charms of the off-season
At the beginning of September, Saint-Tropez is calm again, and temperatures remain pleasant for swimming, walking, and water sports. The beach resorts are still open, and access to them is easier, even without a reservation.
A must-see event in autumn is the Voiles regatta, a truly magical experience! Over the course of a week, more than 300 new and old sailboats come together in the bay. A true delight for enthusiasts and experienced yachtsmen alike! The last weekend of the Voiles marks the end of the season, when the jet-setters give way to the sailors.
Don’t forget to explore the vineyards of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, where wine has been made for centuries. Take a leisurely stroll through the vineyards and stop off at the cellars to drink local vintages, such as the famous Pétale de Rose, to celebrate the sweetness of a beautiful autumn.
Winter or enjoy the charm of the French Riviera
Along the Mediterranean, winters are never harsh. If you choose this season to visit Saint-Tropez, your experience will be peaceful and authentic. It’s an ideal time to recharge while strolling along the peninsula’s picturesque paths, which are stunning in winter and offer views of the sea and surrounding nature that invite reflection.
Nearby villages like Gassin, overlooking Saint-Tropez and renowned as one of France's most beautiful villages, or Cogolin and Cavalaire, are worth a visit and are easily accessible. As Christmas approaches, small markets appear, selling the famous santons made in Provence to decorate nativity scenes, as well as specialties like candied fruit, a staple on Provençal festive tables for centuries.
You can’t go wrong when choosing Saint-Tropez — it's up to you to decide which season best suits your tastes!
